Sorry i didnt watch your Talk show. When they took Ellen off in South Africa I was confused. I missed this Ellen show. Being gay in SA was ok.

I never watched her show so I never knew she alluded to her homosexuality so much prior to "coming out." So the question is why was it such a big deal when everyone knew. I'm guessing when she announced it no one was surprised or cared because they already knew. However our media had to make a big deal about it to get ratings.

I hope Ellen sees this comment: the reality is you don't build a successful talk show without a strong work ethic. And when a woman is in charge of that, she's going to be called a bitch. Do you think Johnny Carson got called that? I'm sure more than a few new hires came onto the Ellen set thinking it was all dancing and jokes, not realizing how much work goes into producing a daily show. And certainly not appreciating the drive of a woman who used to sleep on a flea-riddled mattress who vowed never to go back to that.

I watched Ellen off-and-on from the first season, when it was titled, These Friends of Mine, finding it a mediocre comedy with an appealing lead actress. The thing that was most wrong with the show was how they tried to turn a quirky comedian into Lucille Ball. DeGeneres was never a physical comic like Robin Williams or Jim Carrey. But the writers had her doing tired old Lucy bits like taking a ballet class and getting tangled up in the barre. It was painful to watch. It was only in the last season when she took on human form and became the figure that made her famous.

I don't care if she's gay or straight, she's adorable and very talented!
